Asia-Europe rate drops 6.3pc to US$741/TEU, off 11.1pc to USWC

SPOT rates for shipping containers from Asia to northern Europe in the week ending Friday slid 6.3 per cent to US$741 per TEU, according to the Shanghai Containerised Freight Index (SCFI).

Asia-Mediterranean trade declined 5.1 per cent to $665 per TEU, London's Loadstar reported.

Asia to the US west coast dropped 11.1 per cent week over week to $1,016 per FEU while those to the east coast down 7.9 per cent to $2,009 per FEU.
