Asia-Europe rate drops 0.9pc to US$862/TEU, off 6.8pc to USWC

SPOT rates for shipping containers from Asia to northern Europe in the week ending Friday dropped 0.9 per cent to US$862 per TEU, according to the Shanghai Containerised Freight Index (SCFI). Asia-Mediterranean trade inched up 1.2 per cent to $915 per TEU. Asia to the US west coast fell 6.8 per cent to $1,266 per FEU while those to the east coast down five per cent to $2,236 per FEU.
