SPOT rates for shipping containers from Asia to northern Europe in the week ending Friday declined four per cent to US$735 per TEU, according to the Shanghai Containerised Freight Index (SCFI). Asia-Mediterranean trade dropped 4.6 per cent to $767 per TEU, London's Loadstar reported.
Asia to the US west coast dipped 0.5 per cent to $2,332 per FEU while those to the east coast were off 5.2 per cent to $3,319 per FEU.
