Turkish container and logistics firm Arkas continues to steadily build its organization in the Mediterranean and Black Sea, opening its own offices as well as cooperating with local companies. Genoa-based Arkas Italia which was established in 2008 signed an accord with the Italian Company Fratelli Cosulich SPA. The agreement covers the administrative and marketing issues and the purpose is to develop Arkas’ shipping operations in Italy.Furthermore, the opening of new container lines to destinations in the Mediterranean from Italy is envisioned. Bernard Arcas will serve as the President of the new Arkas Italia board of directors while Augusto Cosulich serves as managing director.Arkas Italia has two offices in Genoa that handle agency services for Arkas Line and Emes International. Arkas has operations with Italy in eight countries in the Mediterranean via 12 more offices. Established in 1857, Fratelli Cosulich operating as shipagent for regular lines, yachts or cruise ships, travel agent, bunker supplier, bunker barge owners, shipmanager, forwarder and carriers, NVOCC, trading and IT.
