APL wins 'Best Green Shipping Line' award in France THE French port of Le Havre, Rouen and Paris, HAROPA, has named APL as the 'Best Green Shipping Line" for the second year in a row in recognition of the shipping line's exemplary environmental performance in reducing air emissions beyond the International Maritime Organisation's standards. "We are honoured to receive the accolade from HAROPA," said APL safety eco-chief Dennis Yee.  "APL remains committed to sound environmental stewardship in our activities and will keep identifying the best solutions towards environmental protection," he said. Benchmarked against the Environmental Ship Index (ESI) that evaluates the emission levels of nitrogen oxide, sulphur oxide and carbon of a ship, APL vessels achieved excellent scores to be ranked among the cleanest containerships that called the French port in 2015, according to an APL statement.
