SINGAPORE's APL, now a unit of French shipping giant CMA CGM, has added the port calls of Hamad and Aqaba in the Middle East and Hazira in India to its weekly India Pakistan-Mediterranean express service (IPM). On the new rotation, the IPM service will also call at Jebel Ali instead of Khor Fakkan.

The amendments to the IPM service are in line with the shipping line's ongoing efforts to expand its presence in the Middle East and on the Indian Subcontinent.

The first sailing of the enhanced IPM service will commence from Jebel Ali on January 7 2018, calling at the ports of Jebel Ali, Hamad, Karachi, Mundra, Hazira, Nhava Sheva, Djibouti, Jeddah, Damietta, Piraeus, Malta, Aliaga, Mersin, Port Said West and Aqaba, a company statement said.

The revised IPM loop will enable shippers to tap the carrier's global network via the transshipment hub of Jebel Ali, which provides connectivity to key Gulf ports.
