Alport Alsancak officially assumes cargo operations at İzmir Alsancak Port, completing the transfer from TCDD under Türkiye Varlık Fonu.
The transfer process at İzmir Alsancak Port, under the Türkiye Wealth Fund (TVF), has been completed. Albayrak Group's international port operating brand, Alport Alsancak, officially commenced its cargo operations at the port as of August 1, 2026.
According to the official notification sent to port users, the cargo port operations previously conducted by TCDD will now be carried out by Alport Alsancak Port Operations Inc. While the transfer only encompasses cargo port operations, the passenger terminal used by cruise ships will continue its activities with its existing structure.
With the transfer of the operation of Alsancak Port, one of the most significant foreign trade gateways for İzmir and the Aegean Region, to Alport, it has been reported that necessary preparations have been completed to ensure that operational processes continue uninterrupted, and that there will be no disruption in ship operations, cargo handling, terminal services, and logistics activities.
The foundation of the transfer process was laid with the signing of the Cargo Port Management Services Agreement between the Türkiye Wealth Fund and Alport Alsancak Port Operations Inc. In the following months, technical and administrative preparations were completed, and the operation was effectively transferred to Alport as of August 1.
Albayrak Group conducts port operations not only in Turkey but also in Azerbaijan, Somalia, Guinea, Gambia, the Republic of Congo, and Equatorial Guinea under the Alport brand. With the acquisition of İzmir Alsancak Port, the group's international port portfolio has been further strengthened.
