The 'Neva Leader 7' allided with the swing gate of lock 2 of the Volga-Baltic Canal at kilometer mark 869 on June 25, 2018, at 03.05 a.m. Upon entering, the ship struck the gate with its portside bow. The gate sustained damages, but the ship had not to be suspended as the lock was still operable. The ship, loaded with birch logs, remained undamaged and continued the voyage.
