Allision on the Rhein at Weil

On the Rhine at Weil the 'Alorba“, 3178 ts (EU-No.: 02336829;), pushing the 'Alorba II', 2432 ts (EU-No.: 02335033), allided with the Palmrain Bridge on June 23, 2018, at 4.30 a.m. The vessel was loaded with containers and coming from Basel, sailing northwards. Short before passing the bridge, the master remarked that the hydraulic to lower the wheelhouse failed. Short time later it slammed against the bridge. The fire rescue transferred the injured master ashore where he was medically treated. the Palmrain Bridge was closed for traffic by the police at 8 a.m. until surveys had been carried out.
