All maritime operations by Filo Denizcilik in Northern Cyprus are suspended following a passenger ship disaster in Kyrenia.
Following the passenger ship disaster in Kyrenia, the Ministry of Public Works and Transport of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) announced that all maritime services operated by Filo Denizcilik have been suspended until further notice.
In a written statement from the ministry, it was indicated that all maritime services to be conducted by Filo Denizcilik from the TRNC have been halted until a second notice. The statement also mentioned that Akgünler Denizcilik will commence its services between the TRNC and Turkey starting tomorrow (September 1, 2026), in accordance with the route determined by the Coast Guard Command.
Additionally, it was noted that Pegasus Airlines has started discounted ticket sales for flights by adding 4 extra flights just for today.
