British cargo airline One Air, in partnership with GSA Air One Aviation, will begin scheduled Boeing 747-400 freighter services connecting key airfreight hubs across three continents, reports London's Air Cargo News. Starting September 2, One Air will operate four weekly flights from East Midlands Airport (EMA) to Liege (LGG), Dubai World Central (DWC), and Hong Kong (HKG), with return services from HKG to EMA via LGG. This marks the companies' first foray into scheduled operations.
The flights will be operated using One Air's fleet of three Boeing 747-400Fs. The airline also has a Boeing 777F on order and previously launched its first US service in January.
Air One has partnered with ATC Aviation Services to market outbound flights to Dubai and Hong Kong, while its own Hong Kong sales team will handle return leg bookings. Customers will also gain access to a road feeder network serving major airports across the UK and Europe.
Peter Scholten, Air One's chief commercial officer, said the move into scheduled services builds on the company's success in charter and wet lease operations, having completed over 3,750 charters and transported more than 345,000 tonnes of cargo to over 100 destinations in five years.
Executive chairman Guneet Mirchandani highlighted the strategic opportunity to expand into scheduled cargo, supported by Air One's experienced team and long-standing customer relationships.
