Air China Cargo increases its A350F order to 10, enhancing its long-haul freighter strategy, according to London's Air Cargo News.
Air China Cargo has expanded its Airbus A350F commitment to 10 aircraft, strengthening its long-haul freighter strategy, reported London's Air Cargo News.
The carrier signed for four additional A350Fs, building on an initial order for six placed in November 2025. Vice President Wang Hongyan stated that this move will optimize fleet structure, expand capacity, and support long-term development.
Airbus welcomed the decision, with executive Benoit de Saint-Exupery noting that it reflects confidence in Airbus products and confirms the A350F's position as a next-generation freighter.
Air China Cargo began operating Airbus freighters in 2023 and currently flies eight A330-200P2Fs. The A350F will complement the A330s, with the latter deployed on medium-haul routes and the A350F on long-haul services.
The A350F can carry 111 tonnes over 8,700 km. Built from more than 70 percent advanced materials, it is 46 tonnes lighter than rival aircraft. Rolls-Royce Trent XWB-97 engines deliver up to 20 percent lower fuel use and emissions compared with older freighters.
The aircraft meets ICAO's 2027 CO2 standards and can operate with up to 50 percent sustainable aviation fuel at entry into service, with full capability targeted by 2030.
As of April 2026, the A350F programme had secured 101 orders from 14 customers, positioning it as a long-term fleet anchor for airlines modernizing cargo operations.
