Air Charter Service has flown tonnes of seasoning from Mexico to Nicaragua to prevent a factory shutdown, reports London's Air Cargo News.

The Mexican food manufacturer contacted ACS to move 18 tons of seasoning to a meat products plant in Managua. ACS sourced an Airbus A330-200F for the shipment, advising that a larger 51-ton charter would be more efficient than scheduled flights.

Luis Canales-Tough, cargo director of ACS Mexico, stated that the company worked closely with the airline and Nicaraguan authorities to secure the necessary permits, aided by a letter of urgency from the consignee. ACS also guided the customer through customs procedures, as it was their first charter.

ACS accompanied the shipment to Managua to ensure smooth delivery. The cargo arrived in time to keep the factory's production line running.

This seasoning move is the second unusual shipment ACS has revealed in recent weeks. The firm also transported 36 husky dogs and their handlers from Oslo to Anchorage for the Iditarod sled race.
