A new center connects academia and industry to improve insurance law research, addressing sector challenges through scientific methods.
The new center aims to create a permanent link between academia and the insurance industry by consolidating scientific studies in the field of insurance law under one roof. In his speech at the inauguration, TSB President Uğur Gülen emphasized that the center will extend beyond academic production, serving as a reference point that contributes to the entire 'insurance ecosystem.'
Tekin Memiş, who led the establishment of the center, stated that the goal is to promote high-quality research in insurance and commercial law, produce scientific outputs that guide practical applications, and establish a strong academic foundation for young lawyers.
This innovative structure seeks to address the chronic legal issues within the insurance sector not through mere desk research, but through rigorous scientific methods. It aims to bridge the gaps between legislation, judicial decisions, and practical application. Notably, this center focuses on areas of insurance law that are widely recognized yet have not been systematically studied.
