    The İMEAK Chamber of Shipping hosts the 2nd Maritime Green Transformation Summit on December 24, 2025, at Piri Reis University in Tuzla.

    The '2nd Maritime Green Transformation Summit,' organized by the İMEAK Chamber of Shipping, will take place on Wednesday, December 24, 2025, at the Tuzla Campus of Piri Reis University.

    The summit will commence with informative presentations by Prof. Dr. Aykut Ölçer, Director of Marine Research at the World Maritime University, and Prof. Dr. Nafiz Arıca, Rector of Piri Reis University.

    The session titled 'Maritime Transportation' will feature Cihan Ergenç, President of the Turkish Shipowners Association, Metin Düzgit, Vice President of ICS, and Prof. Dr. Mustafa İnsel, Technical Advisor to İMEAK DTO.

    Following this, the session on 'Shipbuilding and Ports' will host Salih Tan, General Manager of UAB Shipyards and Coastal Structures. In the same session, Murat Kıran, Chairman of GİSBİR, and Hamdi Erçelik, Chairman of TÜRKLİM, will also be speakers.

    After a presentation by Prof. Dr. Ziya Söğüt, Vice Rector of Piri Reis University, on alternative fuels, the 'Alternative Energy Sources' session will include Dr. Mehmet Doymuş from the Faculty of Maritime at Dokuz Eylul University, Seçkin Gül, General Manager of Arkas Bunker, and a representative from the Energy Market Regulatory Authority.

    Finally, Prof. Dr. Levent Kurnaz, Director of the Climate Change and Policy Implementation and Research Center at Boğaziçi University, will deliver a speech on 'Maritime in Global Climate Change.'

    The summit aims to contribute to and highlight the transition of the maritime sector towards a more sustainable, environmentally friendly, and future-oriented structure under the 2023 GHG Strategy implemented by the IMO and the EU ETS applications due to global climate change. It will evaluate strategies for a carbon-free future in maritime transportation, alternative energy sources, low-carbon fuel technologies and infrastructure, as well as sustainable production and circular economy approaches in shipyards, shipbuilding, and ports.
