THE 2,468-TEU APL Jeddah hit a berth at the Taiwan's Kaohsiung port having "suddenly lost power" when leaving the port, reports American Shipper.
The vessel hit number 58 berth, reported Seatrade Maritime, citing a statement from the Kaohsiung Port Bureau.
No crew members were injured, according to the port authority, and the damaged berth has been closed for repairs, and APL will carry out an assessment of any damage to the ship before it continues its voyage.
The APL Jeddah is on the Japan Taiwan 6 Service-JT6 service, rotating through Kaohsiung, Osaka, Kobe, Tokyo, Yokohama, Kaohsiung, Xiamen, Hong Kong, Guangzhou-Nansha, Shenzhen-Shekou, Manila and back to Kaohsiung.
