On July 2 the "Chemroad Journey" was refloated on July 2, under guiidance of the Vietnam Maritime Bureau, Ministry of Transport and the Vietnam SAR Coordination Center, after about 8.000 tons of the cargo, 30.000 tons chemicals, had been siphoned by the tanker "Sun Mercury" (IMO: 9291444) which had been moored alongside the casualty, since July 1. From June 15 to 26 some 826 tons were transferred from the foreship to other tanks to prevent an oil pollution. The tanker was hard aground in pos. 10-02.90N; 108-58.40 E in the Hon Da area in Southeastern Vung Tau about 120 nautical miles off Binh Thuan. The ship had two ballast tanks ruptured and was listing 15,5 degrees to port. At 3.37 p.m. the ship was pulled off by the "CN-09 BP 11.19.01" of the Border Patrol of the Binh Thuan Province, the "CSB 6008" of the Coast Guard, the "SAR 413" of the Joint Search Center Trabajador 1 in the Philippines, the "Minh Hoang 06", "Sea Boxer" and "Sea Tiger" both frim Vietnam and the "Lam Hong" from Panama and pulled to Phu Quy (Binh Thuan).
