Product tanker ARSLAND ran aground at around 1800 UTC Aug 16 on River Thames, UK, at South Stifford, while proceeding downstream, en route from South Stifford to Hamburg. Tanker was refloated in about an hour with the help of Svitzer tugs, no damages, no leak reported, she was taken to Tilbury and moored there in the evening Aug 16, as of 1200 UTC Aug 17 remained berthed. According to AIS track, tanker ran aground after suffering mechanical failure, so maybe she’s still in Tilbury undergoing repairs and inspection. (6 min ago, by arnekiel )
