Giant box ship Gustav Maersk went aground in Italy
The VLCS GUSTAV MAERSK went aground while she was maneuvering to pick up the pilot at Italy's mainland Torre Cavallo to the north of the Messina Strait.

The VLCS GUSTAV MAERSK went aground while she was maneuvering to pick up the pilot at Italy's mainland Torre Cavallo to the north of the Messina Strait.The 367 meters-long giant ship's condition was checked and there was no damage to the ship, no leaks.The ship was again floated with the help of two tugboats and was anchored to Gioia Tauro for surveys.The ship was going from Rijeka to Gioia Tauro.IMO: 9359038
