G6 ALLIANCE, made of up APL, Hapag-Lloyd, Hyundai, MOL, NYK and OOCL, has decided to restrict itself to the current six-loop joint Asia-Europe service and not add a seventh as planned.
The original plan was for seven loops between Asia and north Europe, but this did not start in March as planned "because of the unsuitable market conditions" and G6 member lines have not seen enough improvement to warrant its commencement.
Thus, G6 will now provide six loops between Asia and North Europe, the Asia-Mediterranean Express Service (EUM), and the Asia-Black Sea Express Service (ABX). These eight connect nearly 40 ports in 25 countries of the trade with over 110 weekly calls, at major ports daily.
