ST PETERSBURG posted a 5.6 per cent decline in container volume in 2014 to 2,374,876 TEU, while in tonnage terms it increased 2.8 per cent year on year to 23.8 million tonnes.
in total the port handled 61.2 million tonnes of cargo, up by 5.5 per cent.
Oil product throughput was up 1.9 per cent to 14.2 million tonnes, fertilisers rose 25.9 per cent to 7.6 million tonnes, and metals increased 2.8 per cent year on year to 5.8 million tonnes, reported the Baltic Transport Journal.
