CHINA's express delivery business volume posted a 51.9 per cent year-on-year increase to 2.6 billion units in the first quarter of the year with revenues of CNY41.35 billion (US$6.61 billion), up 45.6 per cent.
Within this total, reports Xinhua, revenue generated by intra-city business rose 61 per cent to CNY5.06 billion, accounting for 12.2 per cent of China's total postal business revenue.
Inter-city business revenue was up 42.5 per cent to CNY23.09 billion, taking up 55.8 per cent. International, plus Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan, increased 15.2 per cent year on year to CNY6.84 billion - 16.5 per cent of the total.
China's express delivery business volume in March surged 52.9 per cent year on year to 1.03 billion units, while its business revenue went up 45.3 per cent to CNY15.63 billion.
