Chongqing quarterly container volume increases 6.2pc to 137,000 TEU
CHONGQING has posted a year-on-year 6.2 per cent increase in import and export container volume to 137,000 TEU in the first quarter of the year, reports Xinhua.
The city's overall international logistics volume in the period increased 12.3 per cent year on year to 2.3 million tonnes.
In the first three months, its international air cargo volume declined 0.8 per cent to 30,000 tonnes.
Iron ore imports reduced significantly, while exports of the processing trade including laptop contributed greatly to the growth, resulting in steady increase in the Chongqing-Shenzhen rail-sea intermodal cargo volume.
