Monday, 20.Feb.2012, 12:08 (GMT+3)

WASSP Ltd has announced the appointment of Stefan Richardson as its Development Manager to oversee the company’s multibeam sonar products.

WASSP Ltd has announced the appointment of Stefan Richardson as its Development Manager to oversee the company’s multibeam sonar products.

WASSP Ltd CEO Gareth Hodson says Richardson has a tremendous amount of experience and passion around marine technology and holds a BSc 1st Class Hons in Marine Navigation with Technology from the University of Plymouth.

“Stefan is a highly experienced Development Manager who brings over 6 years management and 8 years team and product delivery experience. He brings strong leadership skills in driving process improvement through interactive development, integration points and strong phased release procedures,” said Mr Hodson.

Mr Hodson says the appointment reflects the company’s continued growth and its need to meet market demand for further multibeam products.

“I believe Stefan will complement our world class development team as we look to develop and project manage a number of our new and innovative WASSP Multibeam Sonar products over the coming years.”

From a specific marine product and development perspective, Richardson has previously held positions with Raytheon Marine, DERA Sea-Systems, Raymarine, and Navico.

During this time he was involved in driving the development of Navico products from concept to production as Software Development Manager from 2006-2008.

Whilst also at Navico he managed, coordinated and led the development teams including the Software and Software Quality Assurance teams across multiple geographic locations. He also made technology decisions in order to ensure success across multiple projects and mentored and made final decisions on design and architecture.

Mr Richardson says he is excited to join a strong and successful technology based organization.

“WASSP is a very innovative company and has developed world class multibeam technology. I look forward to being involved with the development team and continuing in the development of the company’s future products,” said Richardson.
