LA port police chief charged with corruption in conflict of interest case
PORT of Los Angeles police chief Ronald Boyd has charged with corruption in a scheme to sell crime-reporting technologies to port authorities and government agencies.
The indictment says Boyd illegally met with city officials without disclosing his business ties to the social networking app and lied to the FBI about his activities. He also allegedly failed to report income from his security business.
Port authorities have put the police chief on administrative leave and deputy chief of port police Thomas Gazsi has assumed his responsibilities, reported American Shipper.
