The Rena container removal operations have resulted in 341 removed containers.
The process of repositioning and placing the bow of the barge into the swell is being performed by Smit Borneo what will enable further container removal.
The container removal has been postponed for the past couple of days due to 1.5m swells however further removal will proceed as long as the weather conditions allow.
Braemar Howells teams keep processing containers and the oil spill response team has been undertaking daily patrols of oiled areas around Mount Maunganui and other priority areas. Teams are monitoring these sites and are on standby to respond to reports from the public of oil sightings.
Clean-up operations will resume on 28 December as the last one was conducted on Christmas Eve.
