Ship Fire Kills 4 Chinese Sailors Off Korean Coast Four Chinese sailors died and five others were rescued on Friday after a fire gutted a Cambodian cargo ship anchored at Korea's southern port of Busan.
According to the Korean coast guard, the 1,400 ton vessel with eight Chinese and one Myanmarese onboard, caught fire early Friday morning triggered by a short circuit.
Among the rescued sailors, one has reportedly told investigators that the fire started from the first floor kitchen while most of the sailors were sleeping hampering them from evacuating quickly.
Empty Cambodia-registered cargo ship, Yunxing, was carrying a crew of eight Chinese and one from Myanmar.
