    In the night of Aug 28, 2018, the 'Anahita' was crushed by ice and sank north of the Canadian coast in the Depot Bay, East of the Bellot Strait. She got caught in icce fiels en route from Nuuk via Baffin Bay and Pond Inlet to the entrance of the Bellot Strait, where she met her end. The crew, two Argentines from San Martín de los Andes, fled onto the ice and were rescued by other yachts after having activated the EPIRB. Also a tug and an icebreaker were enroute to the area. The skipper Pablo David Saad had ignored ice warnings of the authorities.
