Cosco captures order for three 1,750 TEU feeder ships
STRUGGLING Chinese yard Cosco Corporation (Singapore) has won a contract to build three 1,750-TEU feeder container vessels for a European buyer, Colchester's Seatrade Maritime News reported.
Cosco's Guangdong-based Shipyard Unit secured the deal for an undisclosed sum after agreeing with the buyer to keep the contract prices confidential.
The transactions are not expected to have a material impact on the net tangible assets and earnings per share of Cosco Corp for the year ending December 31.
The vessels measure 172 metres long and 28.4 metres wide and are scheduled for delivery in the second and third quarters of 2019.
