Westports on track to boost capacity 18.1pc to 13 million TEU in 2017
WESTPORTS Malaysia will boost container capacity 18.1 per cent to 13 million TEU a year with the completion of its Container Terminal 8 by mid-2017, reports Seatrade Global.
Westports CEO Ruben Emir Gnanalingam said Westports was also building a new container gate for local cargo as well as other back of terminal support facilities to keep pace with the development of the new terminal.
"Our focus is always skewed towards a supply-driven approach to meet our customer demand. With CT8, we will be able to handle big vessels while continuously maintain the highest level of productivity and all other service strings," he said.
