US Florida-based Aeronautical Engineers Inc (AEI) has gained uk Civil Aviation Authority (C) approval for its 12-pallet position B737-800SF freighter conversion.
AEI currently has US Federal Aviation Administration, Civil Aviation Administration of China, European Union Aviation Safety Agency, Transport Canada Civil Aviation, Cayman, Guernsey, and now C approvals for its B737-800SF freighter conversion, reports London's Air Cargo News.
The first AEI B737-800SF converted freighter for which this approval will apply has recently arrived in the UK and will begin operations shortly with an undisclosed customer.
This is the first C approval that AEI has gained from the UK authorities, until the country left the European Union aircraft approvals were governed by EASA.
The AEI converted B737-800SF freighter offers a main deck payload of up to 23.9 tonnes and incorporates 11 full height 88 x 125-inch container positions, plus an additional position for an AEP/AEH.
Meanwhile, Transport Canada Civil Aviation has also approved AEI Supplemental Type Certificate (STC) for its 12-pallet position B737-800SF freighter conversion.
Last week the company received ETOPS 180 approval from the US Federal Aviation Administration (F) for its B737-800SF freighter conversion.
The ETOPS 180 approval allows the B737-800SF freighter to fly 180-minute extended operations over water and remote regions.
