Europa Air & Sea has marked three years of operations in Dubai, expanding fivefold since its 2022 launch and becoming a key player in the UAE's logistics sector, reported London's Air Cargo Week.
The Dubai branch of Europa Air & Sea, part of UK-based Europa Worldwide Group, has grown from three to 17 staff since its inception. The company offers end-to-end freight solutions and has invested in business development and customs expertise to support uae customers.
Director Angus Hind said Dubai's logistics sector faces rising costs, competition and regional instability. However, its innovation and strategic location continue to attract investment across sectors such as renewable energy and luxury goods.
Trade between the UK and UAE is rising, prompting demand for comprehensive freight services. Hind noted that many UAE firms lacked the expertise to trade effectively with Europe, spurring Europa's regional investment.
Europa's Dubai office was part of a wider expansion in 2022, which included new locations in the UK, Republic of Ireland, Netherlands, Belgium, China and India.
The company launched a weekly air freight consolidation service between the UK and Dubai, now operating twice weekly. Additional airfreight routes from Milan, Frankfurt and Amsterdam complement weekly LCL sea services.
General manager Nathan Lynn said inter-office movements with the UK have surged, making it one of Dubai's top trade lanes alongside the Far East and India. Customers value Europa's local knowledge and streamlined service.
Europa demonstrated its capability by chartering an Antonov AN-124 to deliver urgent cargo for a UK hydraulics firm during a major UAE storm. The team completed customs clearance and delivery on time.
Mr Lynn added that Europa also supports major retailers with urgent shipments from Europe, the UK, US and China. One client with over 2,000 stores relies on Europa for seasonal promotions.
From modest beginnings, Europa's Dubai team now boasts strong business development and customs capacity, positioning it for continued growth in the UAE.
