Turkey's Özata Shipyard delivered KIYEM 5 and KIYEM 6 speed lifeboats
Following the completion of their registration procedures, KIYEM 5 and KIYEM 6 speed lifeboats, built in Özata Shipyard in Yalova, were delivered to the Coastal Safety.
The Coastal Safety received their new boats. The Multi Purpose Speed Lifeboats ordered by the General Directorate of Coastal Safety were launched with a ceremony.
Following the completion of the ship registration procedures, Kıyem 5 and Kıyem 6 speed lifeboats, built by Özata Shipyard in Yalova, were added to the fleet of the General Directorate of Coastal Safety, and stationed in Harem Lifeboat Station by April 1.
The search and rescue boats, two of them delivered in 2012 and two of them being built upon the order received, attract attention, especially with their technical specifications. The boats have 23.30 meter full length and 6.60 meter full width. Built from aluminum material, the boats have 70 ton full load displacement, and can reach 2.20 meter draft and 27 knot speed. Kıyem 5 and Kıyem 6 are designed to resist 6g wave force, have self righting capability, and allow fast response to special conditions with six personnel.
The ship can reach up to 27 knot speed thanks to its main drive system consisting of two diesel engines (2x1080 kw), two reduction gears, two shaft lines and two controllable propellers.
