The "Gene Dunlap" grounded off a Seattle beach and was towed back to a dock after crews made repairs. No oil was spilled during the incident in the morning of Apr 7, 2017. The unmanned tugboat was being towed by another tug when it began taking on water. The vessel was intentionally pushed into shallow waters off Seattle's Golden Gardens beach so it wouldn't sink. Crews from several responding agencies were able to stem the flow of water from a failed shaft seal and tow the vessel off the beach and through the Hiram Chittenden Locks in Ballardand. The vessel was headed for a dry dock in Seattle. (Photo courtesy of Eric Anderson.)
