On Sep 4, 2018, the 'Kyuei Maru No 18' dragged its anchor, due to the typhoon Jebi when it made landfall with wind speeds of 162 km/h, and ran aground with its barge on a breakwater at the Amagasakinishinomiya Port in Hyogo, Kobe Port. The vessels got stuck on both sides of the jetty. Workers started welding the damage at the bottom in order to get them refloated. An oil boom was laid out around the stern of the pusher tug.
