Tsuneishi Heavy Industries (Cebu), a Philippine subsidiary of Japan's tsuneishi Shipbuilding, has delivered a Kamsarmax bulk carrier from its West Cebu Estate yard, reports Saint Petersburg's PortNews.
The vessel measures approximately 229 metres in length, with a molded breadth of 32.26 metres, a depth of 20.15 meters, a deadweight of around 82,400 tonnes, and a gross tonnage of about 44,000.
The Kamsarmax design is the largest Panamax-type vessel that can enter Kamsar Port in Guinea and is used to transport iron ore, grains, coal, and hot-rolled steel coils.
Tsuneishi has delivered over 400 Kamsarmax vessels and claims a leading market share in this category. The company did not disclose the name or owner of the ship delivered on September 2.
In July 2025, the Cebu yard launched what it described as the world's first methanol dual-fuelled Kamsarmax, with its maiden voyage scheduled for January 2026.
Tsuneishi Cebu President Yasuaki Seto said the company remains committed to safety, stability and sustainability, highlighting the emissions reductions expected from the new design.
Tsuneishi Shipbuilding, founded in 1917 and based in Fukuyama, Hiroshima, designs and builds bulk carriers, containerships and tankers, with shipyards in Japan, the Philippines and China.
Tsuneishi Cebu, established in 1994, operates a shipbuilding facility in Balamban, Cebu. As of January 2025, it employed 955 direct staff and about 7,311 partner-company workers.
