Another three from the shrinking Danish coaster fleet is about to leave the country. The laid up Adriane (laid up in Svendborg since April 2009) has been sold to Dubai based Island Flag Shipping, which is owned by a Jordanian citizen. The vessel is now named Tamara and will leave Svendborg for Alexandria to be rebuilt to become a livestock carrier for trading in the Arabian Gulf. The 1969-built coaster is on 1,290 DWT.
Last weekend the Katrine Krog left Marstal after being laid up since June 2009. The ship was in fact first sold to a Dutch trader, but remained laid up until it was sold to Haiti. It left Marstal for Casablanca and Haiti. The sister vessel Nortic from the bankrupt C J Helt & Co will follow the Katrine Krog to Haiti for further trading.
Both sisters are built by Frederikshavn Værft & Tørdok in 1969 and is on 1,079 DWT. From the bankrupt C J Helt & Co the remaining three units are still laid up at Svendborg.
