Cargo ship saved 171 migrants
171 Syrian refugees from a refugee boat were brought to Sicily on Oct 6, 2013. The ship which was coming from Moll Princep d'Espanya and saved the People who were part of a group of 363 asylum-seekers that have landed in Italy in the past 24 hours.
Another ship, the "Le Suroit", also brought Syrian migrants to the port of Pozzallo. The refugees were very tired but seemed in relatively good health, they had sufficient food, water and their own life jackets.
Survey ship saved 29 Syrian refugees
The "Le Suroit" rescued 29 Syrian refugees on Oct 6, 2013, who were part of a group of 363 asylum-seekers that have landed in Italy in the past 24 hours. The "Le Suroit" brought the Syrian migrants to the port of Pozzallo in Sicily on Oct 7, where 171 others from the same refugee boat were also brought by the Dutch cargo vessel "Abis Albufeira".
The refugees were very tired but seemed in relatively good health, they had sufficient food, water and their own life jackets. The "Le Suroit" was carrying out a geological survey on seismic activity and the risk of tsunamis off Sicily.
