Ship under way to breakers in Aliaga after damage

Repairs of the damage suffered on Jan 25 could not be carried out at shipyard due to the expensive repair budget and the age of the vessel. The tug 'Kurtkulagi' (MMSI: 271010441) has been appointed in order to tow the vessel from the Tuzla shipyard area to an Aliaga scrap yard. The operation has commenced in the morning of March 13 upon completion of towage approval formalities. During the Canakkale Strait passage a Coastal Safety tug will provide escort service for the vessel and strait traffic safety. ETA to Aliaga scrapyard is March 14.
