Saudia Cargo will expand its fleet with two A330-300P2F aircraft under a wet lease agreement with ASL Aviation Holdings, reported Hamburg's Cargo Forwarder Global.
The first aircraft, formerly operated by China Airlines and registered as N810CM, underwent conversion in Istanbul between April 2024 and June 2025. It was repainted in saudia Cargo livery at Shannon Airport and re-registered as EI-LKD under ASL Airlines Ireland.
The aircraft has been stored in Dublin since late July and will begin service with ASL Airlines Ireland in September. Delivery to Saudia Cargo is scheduled for the final quarter of 2025, when the second A330-300P2F will also join the fleet.
The wet lease agreement includes aircraft, crew, maintenance and insurance (ACMI), providing full operational support. ASL Airlines Ireland currently operates a fleet of 40 aircraft, including B737 and ATR72 freighters, serving over 50 destinations across Europe, North America and Asia.
The A330-300P2F has a range of 6,850 kilometres and a maximum payload of 62 tonnes. It can accommodate 26 pallets on the main deck and 11 pallets (32 LD3 containers) in the lower hold.
Saudia Cargo CEO Loay Mashabi said the expansion supports the company's strategic goal of enhancing global reach and supply chain reliability. He said the new aircraft will improve network agility and reinforce Saudi Arabia's role as a global logistics hub.
ASL Aviation Holdings Chief Executive Dave Andrew said the partnership reflects ASL's growth strategy and the A330-300P2F is well-suited for express and e-commerce cargo, offering flexible and reliable service.
