SAS Cargo, the air freight arm of Scandinavian Airlines, is joining digital air freight platform cargo.one to broaden its reach and connect with thousands more forwarders worldwide, reports London's Air Cargo News.
Starting this month, forwarders across Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA), North America, and Asia can quote and book sas Cargo's global capacity through cargo.one.
This includes general cargo and temperature-controlled shipments up to 10,000 kg, with key destinations such as Frankfurt, London, New York, Miami, Atlanta, Tokyo, and Seoul. More markets are expected to follow soon.
SAS Cargo utilises the bellyhold capacity of the SAS passenger fleet to connect Scandinavia with major global trade routes.
Operating a network of widebody Airbus aircraft, the carrier is anchored by its central hub in Copenhagen (CPH), with additional hubs in Oslo (OSL) and Stockholm (ARN). It serves 135 destinations in 31 countries and moves more than 60,000 tons of cargo annually.
A digital innovator, SAS Cargo launched its direct booking portal in 2015 for cargo.one introduced the first airline-neutral booking platform in 2017.
Today, over 80 per cent of SAS Cargo's bookings are made online.
