The 'Henry Dunant' broke lose from its moorings in the port of Tiel during a storm on Jan 3, 2018, at 4 a.m. and its foreship drifted into the harbour. The stern was still attached to the quay . The fire boat 'de Batouwe' from the fire brigade in Tiel, a patrol boat from Rijkswaterstaat and a salvage company were on site. Initially it was not certain whether there were crew members and passengers on board, but it was found out it was unmanned.
