REMONTOWA SHIPBUILDING S.A. has launched the next generation
Platform Supply Vessel (PSV), designed for one of the largest
ship-owners operating Offshore Support Vessels in the North Sea.Deck area of more than 800 sq. m., 4100 t cargo capacity and speed
of 14.3 knots rank this unit among the largest of PSVs that will operate in the class of medium ships, in deep waters and harsh weather
conditions of the North Sea.This is the reason why the shape of the hull and superstructure is
quite different of previously delivered vessels to Brazilian and African market.The vessel will be equipped with a Diesel Electric propulsion that
consists of four generators producing a total power of 6800 kWe. DP2
class – the ship dynamic positioning system will allow operation of the
ship, even in the harshest weather conditions.The vessel is built according to the stringent requirements of
classification societies. She will be covered by the certificate “CLEAN
DESIGN” and will complete classifier performance standards, which is ABS (American Bureau of Shipping). The vessel will obtain the so-called
“GREEN PASSPORT” which means that potentially harmful materials to human health or the environment are not used in her construction.Conceptual design and all technical documentation is provided by
Polish design office MMC Ship Design & Marine Consulting Ltd.,
Gdynia – one of the leaders in the creation of this type of
construction.
