A large rope got caught in the propeller of the "Nautical Aliya" which was destined for Myanmar in the evening of Feb 3, 2017, delayed its departure by more than 10 hours. At about 4.30 p.m. the crew found a 10m rope entangled in the propeller and three divers were deployed to cut it. They spent about 10 hours under the ship to cut the rope and get some minor repairs. They came up at about 4 a.m. on Feb 4. The "Nautical Aliya" was finally able to leave Port Klang waters at about 7.05 a.m. Chartered by Malaysian aid groups, the ship was carrying about 2,300 tons of aid destined for the Rohingya people in Myanmar and Bangladesh. It was part of the Food Flotilla for Myanmar mission.
