ORGANISERS of the second annual ACCSEAS Conference in Edinburgh have announced that Princess Anne will officially open the meeting on Tuesday March 4, called to discuss sustainer e-navigation solutions in the North Sea.
"We are delighted that the Princess Royal has accepted our invitation to open the conference," said ACCSEAs project manager Alwyn Williams.
The conference aims to build on the success of the first ACCSEAS conference in Germany last year and will bring together a global audience to explore the implementation of the ACCSEAS test-bed of e-navigation solutions and present the latest findings and results of the North Sea Region project, said the statement from organisers.
Registration for the event is open and free of charge. Interested parties are asked to register as soon as possible to ensure your participation: www.accseas.eu/register
The conference is chaired by Rear Admiral Nick Lambert, a former Royal Navy hydrographer, who will present cases to demonstrate services followed by a panel discussion and questions from the floor.
The North Sea e-Navigation Forum said it will continue to bring together end users, service providers and navigation authorities and provide a voluntary arena for discussing and advising on the future implementation of e-navigation in the region.
Workshops led by the forum will focus on the impact on e-navigation training, service provision and the wider logistics chain.
Said Northern Lighthouse Board CEO Roger Lockwood: "The ACCSEAS project has made significant progress, developing a total of nine services. It continues to be an exciting project which puts the maritime community at the centre of future innovation in navigation safety for efficient access to an increasingly complex sea space."
