PROJECT Professionals Group (PGG) is holding a development training course that focuses on the management of heavy lift over-dimensional project cargo from March 12-13, and in conjunction with Breakbulk China 2013 at Intex Shanghai.
Course presenter and general manager of PPG, Kevin Stephens, said the Project Forwarding Certificate offered advice and knowledge to fast track skills that enabled less experienced staff to confidently tackle super-sized cargoes.
Mr Stephens said in a statement that understanding the client's expectations and concerns and matching this with the complexity of transporting project cargo to difficult sites will be explored in detail during the two-day training course.
"Young up-and-coming project forwarding managers need to understand how the client thinks in regard to supply chain management, and all too often this is not given the attention that it should and ultimately ends in costly mistakes," Mr Stephens said.
He said holding the ISO accredited course in China offered local companies the opportunity to expand the skills of their employees who were required to partner with off-shore intermediaries.
The training, which also includes business communication training, will be delivered by Australian university academic and professional communication consultant Rodger Hall.
"Project forwarders will learn about proven strategies for improving writing by organising important ideas quickly and communicating them clearly and concisely, along with suggestions for structuring tender responses, striking the right tone and style, and avoiding all too common errors that can mean elimination from the tender process," Mr Hall said.
The course is open to all project forwarders, over dimensional tender managers and industry partners such as port authorities and shippers. For registration and course information, email: kevinstephens@ppgprojects.com and visit www.wwproject.net/certificate-course.html.
The Project Forwarding Certificate will also be offered from May 13-14 in Antwerp during Breakbulk Europe.
