THE Port of Oakland has posted total container volume - imports, exports and empties - declined 0.3 per cent year on year to 192,584 TEU in November.
Imports increased 8.7 per cent to 73,696 TEU, the eighth increase in nine months, which compared to a nearly 40 per cent volume decline last winter.
"We're finishing the year much stronger than we started," said maritime director John Driscoll. "Our goal now is to keep the momentum up heading into 2016."
The port said laden export volume declined 13.7 per cent last month to 74,293 TEU.
The Port of Oakland oversees the seaport, the airport, and 20 miles of waterfront. Together with its business partners, the port supports more than 73,000 jobs in the region and nearly 827,000 jobs across the United States, said the port statement.
