Panama Canal rescinds second draft limit, but September 8 level still holds
THE Panama Canal Authority (ACP) has announced that water conditions no longer warrant a second draft restriction earlier scheduled for September 15 due to recent rains.
The September 8 draft restriction of 11.89 metres (39 feet) Tropical Fresh Water (TFW) still stands and will apply until further notice.
Vessels arriving after this date with drafts over the limit of 11.98 metres may be allowed to transit the waterway depending on the water level of Gatun Lake at the time of transit.
