Orient Overseas Container Line Ltd (OOCL) received three awards at the 2025 Joint Luncheon cum Award Presentation Ceremony hosted by the Hong Kong Marine Department and the Hong Kong Shipowners Association (HKSOA), reported a company press release.
The event marked the 35th anniversary of the Hong Kong Shipping Registry (HKSR) and recognised contributions from shipowners and shipping firms. Around 200 industry representatives and guests attended.
oocl was presented with the HKSR 35th Anniversary Longstanding Partnership Award, acknowledging its consistent support for the Hong Kong Flag since the registry's inception.
Captain Jacky Jiao, assistant general manager of fleet management, accepted the award on behalf of OOCL from Ms Lydia Lam, acting director of marine.
The company also received the Award for outstanding performance in Port State Control (PSC) for 2024, recognising its excellence in ship management and operational standards.
A third award was given for recruiting the most Hong Kong sea-going cadets in 2024, highlighting OOCL's commitment to nurturing young maritime professionals and supporting talent development in the region.
