OOCL delays four 8,888-TEUers till 2015 to upgrade their fuel efficiency
HONG KONG's Orient Overseas Container Line (OOCL) will delay until next year the delivery of four 8,888-TEU ships ordered from Shanghai's Hudong Zhonghua Shipbuilding.
OOCL said it delayed the delivery to optimise engine and fuel efficiency. The work includes an updated bulbous bow, rudders, scrubbers and engine, reported SinoShip News of Singapore and Dalian.
OOCL recently reported a net profit of US$181 million in the first half of this year. The company said it will redouble its efforts to focus on cost efficiency and operating margins.
